Flying Carpet Project

The Flying Carpet Project is a collaborative artwork that illustrates how viewing the world from a different vantage point can offer a new perspective that, hopefully, supports social cohesion.  During the Arts Learning Festival in 2017, the project was delivered for the first time in Australia when I assisted the team from the museum to facilitate the community activation.  Participants wove coloured fabric strips of fabric into orange road netting to create the 40 meter long Flying carpet.  This was then installed on the Upper terrace at Birrarung Marr in the extended 3 loop symbol of the Third Paradise (see below).
