Machine Embroidery on Hand coloured Silk
A homage to Botticelli’s famous work of the Renaissance period, I have translated the iconic goddess on her shell through machine stitching onto a padded surface of hand painted silk. The marble effect of gold and bronze tones with the incised outlines of the composition create a low relief sculptural effect which extends into the decorative fabric framing.
