Through studying some of the properties of silk as an artistic medium, images of caterpillar eggs became compelling both through their perceived size and unique patterning. While all seemingly uniform in their microscopic size and ovoid form, each egg possesses its own identifying markings based on circular concentric patterns highlighting the idea that diversity is ever present even in the smallest life forms in the natural world.
